Sister Scarecrow Festival
Welcome to the Japanese Oku Harima Scarecrow Village as sister scarecrow festivals. This special village is home to 130 scarecrows and more than a dozen villagers. The villagers have been trying to revitalize the regional area to combat the decreasing population so one member had the idea to make Kakashi people to bring the village back to life. Kakashi is the Japanese word for scarecrows. They hope that their scarecrow paradise will attract visitors and enliven the sleepy village.
Unlike American scarecrows, Japanese scarecrows are made to give a warm feeling. Also these creations stay up year round.
