10 Tips For an Enjoyable Scarecrow Experience
- Scarecrows will be displayed throughout Cambria in the parts we call the East Village, West Village and along Moonstone Drive. They will also be displayed in San Simeon with the largest display at the lot next to San Simeon Beach Bar and Grill.
- Use crosswalks whenever possible and be mindful of people in cars who may be distracted by the scarecrows.
- If driving around to view the scarecrows, please don’t stop in the middle of the street.
- Besides street parking, public parking lots can be found in East Village between Main Street and Center Street and in West Village on the corner of Cornwall Street and Sheffield Street.
- Check out the map at CambriaScarecrows.com to find all the scarecrows as well as available parking locations. You can also download the Visit Cambria app for their map.
- Don’t miss the viewing of the documentary Something To Crow About showing at the Cambria Center of Arts at 1 pm and 3 pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday until October 29, 2023. This 40 minute view of what happens behind the scenes to bring this festival to life is free but donations are accepted to keep this festival going.

Before you head to Cambria going North on Highway 1, take a slight detour and go the Harmony Winery where you’ll see the first of many scarecrows.
From Highway 1, take the Main Street exit at the light. Continue down Main Street past the Old Schoolhouse. You will find yourself in the East Village. The scarecrows start on Main Street in front of the Creekside Inn and continue along on both sides of Main Street towards the West Village.
Find a parking spot along the street and make your way back to JJs Pizza. Check out both sides of the street for scarecrows. There are also parking lots Between Center and Main Street.
Be sure to take a detour to Burton Drive to see the pirate scarecrows of Pirate Bay on both sides of the street.
At the Chevron station, continue west on the left side of Main Street where you will pass more scarecrows and end up at the Bluebird Inn to view the Cambraliens display.
Continue walking or make your way back to your car.
Past the Bluebird Hotel, you will find scarecrows along Main Street. Park at the CCAT to see the Art Through the Years display. Walk west over the bridge and enjoy our Junior Scarecrow display. Local children created these at our children’s art workshop. You will also see scarecrows once you cross the bridge on your left.
Continue to walk or return to your car to go to the Santa Rosa Catholic Church to view the Picnic Cambria Style display. If it is not Sunday you can park in there parking lot get out and enjoy the sweet display of the woodland Animal of Cambria having a picnic.
Walk a little farther west to Cambria Drive, make a left and check out our 15 year birthday celebration where you will see photos of past favorite scarecrows along with cakes and huge crows with party hats.
Once you are in West Village, if you are driving, you can park along the road or turn right on Cornwall Street to park in the parking lot. Make your way back to Main Street and walk up and down both sides of the street until you make your way down just past the Shell Station. There you will see our large Scarecrow Academy display.
Get back to your car and go west to the intersection of Main and Windsor. Cross Highway 1 and turn right on Moonstone Drive. You can park at Moonstone Park or on Moonstone Drive. Walk down Moonstone on the right side where you will see many scarecrows.
When you get back to your car, take the 5 mile drive north to San Simeon. Tthe two main roads of San Simeon run parallel on either side of Highway 1. Park on either side and walk around to see scarecrows, but make sure to check out the El Encanto display in the lot next to San Simeon Bar and Grill.
